Oh the drama that is, "the little prairie house"! I went and visited my sister is Pickerington today and her house made me ache for and normal house. I will admit, I was jealous for a minute, then I got those emotions in check because see God doesn't look at the physical, he looks at our hearts.
Bugs, bugs and more bugs! All kinds! We could seriously have an identification class! We've sprayed, fogged and prayed but can't seem to shake the beetles, spiders, and wasps. Today Z was my hero in the fact that I got a wasps under a box but when I went to pick up the box to step in it he was mad, so I got out the shop vac and she lifted the box so I could suck him up! Then I found 2 dead spiders, one dead beetle and one live beetle. sucked them all up too!!
The rain last night was loud and the storm left me lying in bed awake. I struggled to sleep, and when I woke this morning I found my worry was spot on, the house was flooded. The "prairie" house had rained in at 4 windows leaving me with no clean towels. The "new" house basement is full of mud and the 1st floor was soaked. I swepted out almost an inch of rain floor wide. Skye drilled holes in the floor the relieve the water but it was so high, it barely helped. We're supposed to get more rain and storms tonight.
My sister in law Tiff and her hubby Trav were in town over the weekend and we jammed packed it full of family events most of which included balls park games!! Z and Lilly my niece had softball tournaments. Lilly's team when #1 in the regular season and tournament. Zs team was last in both. Fall ball starts up soon, we are excited about that. A's season is over too, new team come fall ball as she moves up to 8 and under division.
Berries are coming! This farm is full of wild black raspberries and we are so excited to start picking!! No chemicals, no fertilizers, just fresh wild berries!! This is a blessing!!
Girls are at VBS in the evening so that leave me and the J-man! Sure is a good thing Inhad him today too!! I manage to lock every key I have inside the house! After about an hour I managed to heave him through a window and he ran and got my keys as brought them too me. I unlocked the door and it was so fun to see his reaction at how happy he was with himself. He was a hero today too!!
The washer is broke, so I've been doing laundry at anyone who will let's me, house. My sister Em was a huge help today with that! I struggle with letting people help as I am independent but feel we've overused our need for others help. I will say after the dirty, sweaty day I had it sure was real nice to have a clean, soft towel to dry off with!!
Even through all the struggles and storms, I feel God right beside us. No one said the hard times are not a blessing too. You can find blessings anywhere, if you look for them. God is good, all the time, even the trying days!!

Some people, are just THAT important!
With the military we have been blessed to move all over and meet people. Some are in our lives for a reason, a season, and a lifetime. John, he's all three in one!
The reason, because he is a loving mentor and great friend. The season, the 3 years we lived in TX. And the lifetime because when you care that much about a friend, the miles don't matter. John was in Columbus for a meeting, called us up, and we ran over to see him and have breakfast. It was a short 1.5 hour breakfast but we feel so blessed he called.
John, thank you! Thank you for always being a friend, for you love and support, and excellent hugs! We appreciate you!!

You know your slacking...
I didn't realize that just how interested people were in reading my blog until I stopped posting...mostly due to complete business, particially do to no internet at the farm.
Changing terms...the "Farm" is my in-laws house...so when we say, we're going to the "farm" the kids get a bit confused...along with when we say "home" they are not quite sure where that is either! My mom calls our house that we're living in now, "the little house on the prairie"...which totally suites it well. But, as for when the house is built, what we'll call it...I REALLY just like...HOME! Our House, or, a small piece of heaven!
To catch up, we've had softball, and softball and softball...we are finishing up summer ball next weekend and then sign ups for fall ball are right around the corner. KIDS love it...and I can not say I'm complaining. They are growing and learning with every game. It's a great thing for them to be involved in. I'm feeling really blessed.
Our "Piece of heaven" is slowly coming along. We worked all last weekend and managed to get the front, one side, and back mostly sheeted. Then a big storm was rolling in and I'm so glad it was much weaker than they lead us to believe. All is well in "heaven" but just wet and muddy...but ALL is well!
As for the Little House, we moved in this weekend...and I'm guessing we are NOT welcome as we've frustrated some groundhogs who live under the house, and they knock on the floor at me. Then I saw a huge spider and when I came back from getting something to kill it, it was GONE...and who knows WHERE it went.
It's a 1 bedroom down, finished attic house. SO the girls sleep up there, and J sleeps in our room. Skye's still on nights, so us being quiet while he sleeps works out well with the AC in his room. We've been doing lots of gator rides with my sis in law...but it sure would be nice if we had our own to get all over the 700 acres.
Yesterday my sis in law and I started to fix the fence in the pasture of our "...heaven" but needed some big guns so we called in my FIL to help out. He finished up, but know we worked hard as I am sore today and sunburnt. I think this is the most I've been tan, in forever!!
Here's some pics... enjoy!
Pure exhaustion!
Allie's on 3rd!
Sheeting...redneck style
Front of house...garage on RIGHT side
Birdy eggs the kids found in the gooseneck trailer.

Shrubs, skid loaders, ball games and garages!
This week has been a crazy one!! The other day I was backing up and didn't see the skid loader, and it dented my bumper. Today I was trying to go through two shrubs and dented the other sided. My dear sweet hubby managed to knock the dents back out and you can barely tell! He rocks!!
Today we had 2 ball games. Allie's was first. She hit off the coach all 3 times and never used the tee. She is doing SO well. Zoey hit all three times with one single and she got out the other two times. But, she's really doing well in the field too. She got burned on a fly ball today and her hustle was awesome getting the ball back. We're really proud of them both!
Skye was off this week and with the rain we had we moved at a snails pace. It's amazing how much gets done with the "crew" shows up. But when Skye is stuck with just me, not a lot happens. I try really hard. We had a crew come help clean up the old house. They are AMAZING, and we'll be moved in next week. The worker bees on the house managed to get most of the garage done, and all of the beams set for the "I joists" to be set. Hopefully tomorrow they can get all those done and then the next step will be sheeting the house with OSB boards. Then the basement and the 1st floor will be all framed.
Moving right along!!
