I have two different kinds of animals in this house. Zoey, the monkey. Allie, the baby gorilla! This is why... Zoey has become quite the professional in crossing the monkey bars at the park. We go there often to burn energy before bed so they actually go right to sleep. Allie is my baby gorilla because she will cling to me like a gorilla and just hang there. It's hilarious!! I tell her I'm going to pick all the buggies off of her and tickle her. I love being a Mom sometimes!! :)

almost 30 down...
as time may seem to fly for the rest of you, it's a slow crawl here for the girls and I. Skye's been gone almost 30 days. We were blessed with the notice that he would be coming home 11 days early. I am still praising God for this blessing! We are excited and have a family vacation planned (planning) already!! Sunny Beach here we come!!!
We've been filling our days with farm fun and Grammy time. We've been climbing trees, helping build a porch, picking berries, and today we made many, many jars of homemade applesauce. It's delicious! Anything, to keep us very busy.
Zoey went for her 5 year old well check up the other day. She got the stamp of approval that yes indeed she is a healthy, happy 5 year old. SO hard to swallow, but very grateful for the last 5 years. We did find out that she was blessed with a shorter gene, coming in at a whopping 40 1/2 inches tall putting her around the 20%, but no worries she's grow eventually! She also had 4 shots, and took them like the cowgirls she says she is. Tough, but a small tear to show her sorrow! She's a good girl, smart, funny, and just keeps me beaming with pride!
Allie-girls birthday is next, not counting Aunt Emmie, and she'll have her check up the day after! She's a spunky thing! They say it's the red hair, but it's not. It's that gene she has in her from her Mommy! She's quick and sharp and darn hilarious. I'll be impressed if she's over 25 lbs!! We'll see. I am a blessed woman.
Skye is doing well. He's surviving and continueing to do things that make me jealous. The other day they went snorkling and he found all these different kinds of shells and some washed up corral. How every interesting. He does say that the water is nearly unbearable because it's so hot. He's never liked taking a nice hot bath!! :) Working hard, and staying safe, what more could a wife ask for.
Zeke is good too. I'd have to say I am a bit jealous of him too. Lounge around, bothered by no one, sleeps in, goes for a walk. Gosh, no wonder they say... it's a Dog's Life!
This year has been a doozie. Skye's grandma is in the hospital. Been there for a week today. They thought she has a stroke, but couldn't find a sign of it once all the tests were said and done. Problem is now, she has a trake because of her swollen throat and well have a process to recover from this. Very scarry, especially since Daddy just passed away.
Speaking of, it's still not reality for me. I'm waiting for him to walk in the door from golfing, or see him walk up the sidewalk from work, or have him standing there leaning on the counter in the kitchen like he always did. So hard to allow my brain to understand that he is gone. How I miss him...
As for me, I've taken up running. I used to run, never as a sport, but more of a mind-clearer/emotion burner. It's so good for me, and I do enjoy it greatly. I'm running in the American Heart Association "Heart Walk" on 22Aug. It's to raise money for the American Heart Association. I've struggled all my life with "what is my purpose" and this make me feel good!! I hope to help others, be a support, or just do it in rememberance of Daddy. It's good to feel like we're keeping him alive! I've managed to lose 8lbs in 3 weeks, and am planning on losing more and keeping it off. By the Grace of God alone!

Keeping busy!!
We've been keeping pretty busy these last few weeks. Otherwise we'd be sitting around counting the days until Skye returns...102, 101, 100, 99. Seriously, how boring would THAT be??
Yesterday was one of my nieces birthdays. We were invited to help celebrate at Chuck E. Cheese's. The girls had a BALL!! It was so much fun. Allie really enjoyed the Skiball. Needless to say, she couldn't get the ball up there, without a little bit of cheating... but at Chuck E. Cheese, no one seemed to notice that an ornery Red-head was running up and down the skiball lane. She is pretty good!!
Today we started our first of many horseback riding lessons with a very dear friend of mine. She's excellent with horses, and also with kiddos. Zoey was great at listening to directions and watched to pick up a few tricks too. Allie is a natural. She just seems to be one with a horse, at 2 years old!! (almost 3) It was great, and I can't wait to see how well they get over the summer! (I'll post pics later)
Skye is doing good. Keeping busy, and working is his excitment! He is doing a bit of go-cart racing, and some working out too! It's taking forever, but we're excited to see him daily on Skype! In all seriousness, thank you God for giving someone the idea for Skype!!
We are well... Thank you, God!

Ignoring...
I've totally been ignoring this blog... totally. To be honest I just haven't felt like saying much. So much is going on that at the end of the day I wonder what I could say in a condensed version that would be appealing and interesting all at the same time.
To start, we're in Ohio. Skye is deployed to the desert. He is a government contractor and they deploy also, so he's gone until October sometime. So, the girls are I decided to yet again, relocate and come to live with Mom for a while and mix things up (like we need to do that to keep it interesting).
It's been a week tomorrow, and I have been keeping us busy. Going here, going there, hanging out with family. Trying anything to keep the time ticking. My mother-in-law doesn't like it when anyone says "Wasting Time" which I would generally agree. But, for all you country fans out there, Brad Paisley has a song call: "Time Well Wasted" and I really have been enjoying listening to it. It talks about how much stuff he could be "getting done" or "getting paid for" and how it's just more important to be with the ones you love because you never know... SO TRUE! So, the girls are I are "wasting time" in Ohio. Soaking up all the new babies we get to hold and having the freedom to run for miles. It's been a good week, all in all!
