Veterans Day

It's so hard for us to think anything negative about our life in the military. We LOVED being part of the military, we LOVE supporting the military today. We wish we never left the military. The USAF was so good to us, and so good for Skye, and me individually. We've met life long friends, and family via the Air Force!

Today being veterans day, it bring up so much pride. Not only for what Skye has done, and accomplished, but how our family is so woven into the military. My dad, grandpa, uncles, and Skye's entire side of his family, practically. It's so great, so wonderful to know that we've come from a family who has set aside their wants, needs for the betterment of the country. I am PROUD!

I know veteran's day is to Honor ALL vets, but I can't help but think of ONE very special veteran. His name is Nick. He was a great friend of our when we lived in TX. We grew close to him and his wonderful wife Leigh. They are so dear to us...so dear! We were blessed to meet them, to grow close to them, and we honor Nick, when he passed away.

Nick's Plane crashed off the Carolina Coast in October of 2009. It was a long 3 days of prayer, but Nick's plane was recovered, and he did no make the crash. He was laid to rest in Arlington in December. He was an amazing man. His smile is totally contagious, his genuine, and sweet, and funny. We miss him!! :)
