Quilt

A friend of the family's son was diagnosed with a rare condition of "Infantile Spasm" West Syndrome. He is said to have a good recovery, so to speak, if they do some meds. It supposedly only affects children from 4month to a year and he was diagnosed at 10 months. From the reports he's doing very well. Skye and my heart is full of sorrow for this family and the trials they are going through. This is the WedMd defination:

West syndrome is a type of epilepsy characterized by spasms, abnormal brain wave patterns called hypsarrhythmia and sometimes mental retardation. The spasms that occur may range from violent jackknife or "salaam" movements where the whole body bends in half, or they may be no more than a mild twitching of the shoulder or eye changes. These spasms usually begin in the early months after birth and can sometimes be helped with medication. There are many different causes of West syndrome and if a specific cause can be identified, a diagnosis of symptomatic West syndrome can be made. If a cause cannot be determined, a diagnosis of cryptogenic West syndrome is made.

It was laid on my heart, late in the middle of the night, that Joshua needed to be "Clothed" in prayer. We, the girls included, pray for him all day long. At every meal, and bed time for sure. Even Allie says: "Joshua" whenever we go to pray. The idea came to me to make Joshua a quilt with Positive and Encouraging Scripture Verses embroidered all over. This way he would be "Spiritually and Physically" covered with prayer. I have all the verses set, and all the cloth cut. I need to sew it all together, embroider, and then slap the back on with some trim! I'm very excited about this. I'll take a picture when I am finished!
